Assigning a Request

Overview

During the utilization management process, requests often transition across different personnel, for instance moving from a UM Nurse to a medical director reviewer.

This user guide details the methods available on the platform for re-assigning requests.

Assigning from a Worklist

This is the most efficient method to use if you are viewing the worklist where multiple requests need to be assigned to different people. This method can also be used to re-assign a request from another user's worklist or a department's worklist.

Verify you are on the UM worklist of the current owner of the request to be re-assigned.

Click the

icon on the request to be assigned.

To assign the request to an individual, type the person's name.

To assign the request to a department, click the **User** drop-down and select **Department.**Type the department's name.

Select the name from the list of matches.

A checkmark appears on the line of the selected individual or department. Verify you have selected the correct name.

Click **Assign.**

The request is removed from the worklist if the reassignment is successful. If the reassignment could not be done, an error message displays describing the issue to allow you to remediate.

(_Alternate)_ Click **Close** to return to the worklist without reassigning the request.

Bulk Assigning from a Worklist

This is the most efficient method to use if you have to assign multiple requests from the worklist to the same person. This method can also be used to bulk re-assign multiple request from another user's worklist or a department's worklist.

Verify you are on the UM Worklist of the owner of the requests to be re-assigned.

Click the checkbox in the left-most column of each request.

If all displayed requests are to be re-assigned, click the checkbox in the header bar to select all oat one time.

Click **Bulk Assign.**

The requests are removed from the worklist if the reassignment is successful. If the reassignment could not be done, an error message displays describing the issue to allow you to remediate.

_(Alternate)_ Click **Close** to return to the worklist without reassigning the requests.

**Power User Tips*** If you've selected a few requests and then discovered they're not the ones you need, simply click the 'select all' checkmark twice—once to select all, and again to deselect everything. * Do not change the filters while requests are checked.
