Reassigning Tasks UM

Overview

You can reassign and bulk reassign tasks. Bulk reassignment is designed to save time and reduce the number of clicks needed, and it can be accessed from any worklist.

This user guide walks through task reassignment and the optimal use of bulk task reassignment.

When you have a need to reassign one or multiple tasks to a different user or department.

Tasks can be reassigned (and owned) by individuals who are not in a department.

Reassigning a Task to Another Individual

1. Go to the Task Details page.

In the **User owner** field, click the **X** to clear out the current user owner.

Enter the name of the new user owner for the task. As you type, a menu of names displays. Select the user name from the menu.

Reassigning a Task to Different Department

Go to the Task Details page.

In the **Department owner** field, click the **X** to clear out the current department owner.

Enter the name of the new department owner for the task. As you type, a menu of names displays. Select the department name from the menu.

Accessing Bulk Task Assignment

Bulk reassignment is available on any worklist, whether it is your own, another user's, or a department's worklist.

Click the checkbox in the far left column next to each task to be reassigned. To select all tasks displayed on the current page, click the checkbox on the header row.

After selecting tasks, Reassign entry boxes display.

Enter a department or user.You can enter either a department or another user. If you provide a department, all selected tasks are reassigned to that department and the user owner is removed. If you provide a user owner, all selected tasks are reassigned to that user and the department is unchanged.

Click **Apply.**

_(Alternate)_ Click **Cancel** to discard the changes and de-select all tasks.

**Power User Tips*** If you selected a few tasks and then discovered they are not the ones you need, click the Cancel button to unselect them. Alternatively, you can click the **Select all** checkmark twice: once to select all and again to deselect everything. * To select more than the 13 tasks on display, navigate to another page in the worklist, and continue making selections. You will see the count increase. * Do not change the filters while the Reassign entry fields are on display.
