Reassigning Tasks

Overview

You can reassign a task by updating the department and/or user owner. If the task was assigned to you and you reassign it to someone else, the task no longer displays on your worklist. You can still view the task in the CPV.

When you need to change a task owner to a different owner.

* Department owners are required on tasks. User owners are optional. * You do not need access to a department or another individual’s worklist to reassign a task to them. * The process to reassign a task is the same between an Individual worklist and a Department worklist. * When reassigning tasks from a worklist, you must reassign to either a department or individual; you cannot change both.

Reassigning from a Worklist

From the Individual or Department worklist page, filter or sort tasks as needed.

Select the **checkbox** next to each task you want to reassign. You can choose one task, multiple tasks, or all tasks.

To select all tasks, select the empty box next to the Due Date column header.

To deselect tasks, deselect the checkbox next to each task you want to deselect. Once a task is selected, you have the option to either **Reassign to Department** or **Reassign to Individual**.

Begin typing the name of the department or individual you want to reassign the task to and make your selection.

**Click** **Apply**. The tasks will be reassigned to the department or user you selected._(Alternate)_ **Click Cancel**.

Click the **task** on the worklist or CPV.

On the Edit Task page, **scroll** down to the Department Owner/User Owner.

To reassign the task to another department, click the **X** in the Department owner box, and then enter a new Department owner.To reassign the task to another user, click the **X** in the User owner box, and then enter a new User owner.

_Department and user owners can be changed at the same time._

Click **Save & Exit.**

_(Alternate)_ **Click Save** to remain on the Task Details page and make additional edits._(Alternate)_ **Click Cancel** to delete the change.
