Managing Request Notes
Overview
Request Notes allow you to enter information or a narrative to save with a request. You can add a note for a request at any time while working within the request.
This user guide details the capabilities of request notes.

When you want to capture additional information about the request at the request-level instead of using inline notes associated to specific items within the request.
* Data permissions apply to notes. Be careful to not enter a note on the person level if it should only be viewable by users with access to the program. * Before voiding a note, it is recommended to view the full note to verify that you have selected the note you mean to void.
Adding a Quick Note
You can add a note on the same page as the request. No formatting can be applied to this note.
Click the **Notes - Attachments - Letters** panel on the right-hand side of the page.
Enter note text.
Note text can include a maximum of 10,000 characters. Spaces and new lines are included in this count, and each new line is equivalent to two characters.
Click the up-arrow icon at the bottom of the note.
Adding an Inline Note
Inline notes are associated with specific items within a request, providing contextual information directly related to those items. These notes are often used to capture details specific to a part of the overall request.
From Request Details, you can enter an inline note in any of the following sections:* Diagnosis * Request Outcome * Appeal Outcome (if applicable)
Go to the section of the request where you want to add the note, and then click the **Add Note**
icon.
Type your note, and then click **Save**.
The note is inline viewable in the request and viewable in the **Notes - Attachments - Letters** panel.
Adding a Formatted Note
All notes can be formatted for easier display. The formatting controls are available at the top of the note entry box.
Click the **Notes - Attachments - Letters** panel on the right-hand side of the page.
Click **Add Note**._(Alternate)_ If notes already exist for the request, click the **View Notes** button and then **Add Note.**
Enter note text.
Note text can include a maximum of 10,000 characters. Spaces and new lines are included in this count, and each new line is equivalent to two characters. However, character count is not affected by formatting, or the addition of bullet points or numbers.
Apply formatting as desired.
Click **Create Note.**_(Alternate)_ Click **Close** to return to the request view without saving the entered note. You are prompted to confirm that you want to cancel.
Filtering Notes
The following filters are available on the Notes list panel:
### Filtering by Date RangeManually enter a starting date and ending date or select from the calendar picker.
### Displaying Voided NotesEnable the **Show Voided Notes** switch.
Voiding a Note from the Request Detail View
To void a note from the request detail view, do the following:
Click the **Notes + Attachments + Letters** panel on the right side of the page.
Go to the note to void, and then click **More**
.
Click **Void.**
Select the **Void Reason.**
Click **Void.**
(_Alternate)_ Click **Close** to cancel voiding the note and return to the CPV.
Voiding a Note from the Note View
To void a note from the note view, do the following:
Go to the note view with a note selected so that the full text of the note is able to be seen.
Click **Void**.
Select the **Void Reason.**
Click **Void.**
(_Alternate)_ Click Close to cancel voiding the note and return to the note list view.
