Editing a Provider
Overview
Provider information is most often loaded to the application via an external load process into the Data Platform. This information can be edited if added information is received about the provider, or the information was not contained in the provider load.

* Access to Care Management or Utilization Management * Permission to modify provider details
When you need to update a Provider’s information.
When the provider is received in a data load, any data manually entered that does not match data in the load is overwritten
Editing Identification
Starting point is the Provider view, accessed after performing a search for the provider.
Click Edit
Make the necessary changes to the Identification.
Fields that are gray cannot be changed.
Click Save & Exit to leave the Provider view.
_Alternate:_ Click a tab on the left panel to continue editing provider data. Changes made on the Identification page are saved automatically
_Alternate:_ Click Save to save the changes and remain on the Identification page.
_Alternate:_ Click Close to leave the Provider view without saving your changes.
Adding an Address
Starting point is the Provider view, accessed after performing a search for the provider.
Click Demographics on the left panel.
Click Edit.
Enter values in Address 1, City, State, and Zip code.
_Optional:_ Enter values in Address 2 and Address 3, if needed
Click + Add Address
_Optional:_ Change the primary flag on the new address if more than one exists
Click Save & Exit or Close to leave the provider view
Adding a Phone Number
Starting point is the Provider view, accessed after performing a search for the provider.
Click Demographics on the left panel.
Click Edit.
Enter a valid phone number in the Phone Number field.
_Optional:_ Select a Phone Type.
_Optional:_ Add an Extension.
_Optional:_ Select an address from the Associated Address drop-down.
Click + Add Phone Number.
_Optional:_ Change the primary flag on the new phone number if more than one exists.
Click Save & Exit or Close to leave the provider view.
Adding an Electronic Address
Starting point is the Provider view, accessed after performing a search for the provider.
Click Demographics on the left panel.
Click Edit.
Enter a valid email in email address.
Click + Add Electronic Address
_Optional:_ Change the primary flag on the new phone number if more than one exists
Click Save & Exit or Close to leave the provider view
Adding a Specialty
Starting point is the Provider view, accessed after performing a search for the provider.
Click Specialty on the left panel
Click Edit
Search for the desired specialty.
Click Add Specialty.
_Optional:_ Change the primary flag on a newly added specialty if more than one exists.
Click Save & Exit or Close to leave the provider view.
Note on Deleting
You can delete a provider’s address, phone number, electronic address specialty by clicking the icon on the record. If you delete the one marked as primary, another record is marked as primary. It may be necessary to adjust the primary selection if the incorrect one was chosen.
Tips for Success:As a time saver, you can complete edits to multiple pages. Do not click Save & Exit until you have completed all needed changes to each page.
