Timeline View & Interactions

The Medecision Platform includes a unified Timeline View that serves as a comprehensive chronological record of all activity related to a member, including tasks, programs, requests, assessments, correspondence, outreach, and system events. This view is foundational for audit, compliance, decision support, and proactive case management.

Purpose and Utility

The Timeline View helps care teams, UM reviewers, compliance analysts, and operational managers:

  • Understand a member’s complete interaction history

  • Trace workflows across modules

  • Identify bottlenecks, escalations, or missed steps

  • Ensure accountability and documentation integrity

  • Meet regulatory audit and reporting requirements

The Timeline View aggregates real-time and historical data into a single, user-friendly visualization available in the Comprehensive Member View (CMV).

Audit & Compliance Capabilities

The timeline view doubles as a live audit trail:

  • Every entry is timestamped and user-attributed

  • System-generated actions indicate automation logic or rule execution

  • Historical versions of programs, requests, or assessments are preserved

  • Fully exportable for regulatory audits (e.g., CMS, NCQA, URAC)

Integration with Other Modules

The timeline unifies data from across the platform:

  • Care Management: program stages, tasks, assessments

  • Utilization Management: intake, decision points, correspondence

  • Clinical Intelligence: rule triggers, risk score changes

  • Digital Outreach: campaign sends and engagement data

  • Appeals & Grievances: request submissions, outcomes, compliance steps

Operational Uses

  • Care Managers: review activity before making a member call

  • UM Reviewers: validate turnaround deadlines and review steps

  • Supervisors: audit performance, escalation volume, and workload delays

  • Compliance: validate timely resolution and communication for appeals/grievances

  • Training/QA: evaluate case handling and adherence to protocols

Technical Design Notes

  • Event data stored in a normalized structure, indexed by member ID and module type

  • Displayed in real-time within CMV and accessible via internal APIs

  • Role-based permissions restrict visibility based on user role and team

Best Practices

  • Encourage teams to use internal notes consistently for context

  • Leverage timeline filters during team huddles or handoffs

  • Set up alerts for key timeline indicators (e.g., escalation events)

  • Use exports for monthly compliance and operational reviews

The Timeline View is a cornerstone of transparency, accountability, and operational insight across the Medecision platform. It ensures every action—manual or automated—is fully traceable in context with the member’s longitudinal journey.
