Closing or Reopening a Request

Overview

When all outcomes have been determined for a request, it should be closed. This finalizes the evaluation process and ensures compliance. Inpatient requests are discharged; whereas, outpatient requests and referrals are closed.

When a request has been closed, the functionalities associated with it are limited. To add new information or make further modifications, a closed request must first be reopened. Reopening a request allows users to add extensions or additional services.

This user guide details the steps needed to close and reopen requests.
